Hosting Software Project Description

A Web hosting company need an application to maintain their hosting documentation for all the applications they provide their customers with.You are asked to develop an application to track the availability of these applications along with version numbers, application documentation, etc.Applications are classified based on the hosting plan types.   1. Is user registration screen and admin screen to assign user role part of deliverables? No user info is required to be stored.
  2. Can guest/Anonymous user access applications database? NO
  3. Which application/web server can be used to build and deploy the application? Any OO programming language (Java, C++, .NET, Ruby)
  4. Which database server can be used? Also are initial data setup and create scripts are part of deliverables? Any (MySQL, Access, etc.) also no database is required,
  5. Can open source mvs frameworks like Struts/Spring be used in building the web application or should it be our own mvc implementation? Yes
  6. Is ant script required for building web application? Yes and if you do a desktop application
  7. Are unit test cases required with final submission? Yes
  8. Exactly how many users will be there in the application? Like an Admin (who will manage this site hosting) and a Customer (who will host the applications and review the application hosted by others). Are there any other users apart from this? Only one user type ADMIN
  9. For the customers, will there be two options of accounts? Regular and premium? What will be the exact difference between these two types except the hosting application type? No access or customer accounts are required
  10. What details I have to store in database regarding the hosting application? Do I have to store whole application or to just store an entry and information regarding that hosting application type? Just entries about the application
  11. Is it necessary for a user to have an account registered on site to rate or review an application? NO
  12. Can there be a feature of reporting a fake application or bad application or some kind of restricted feature for the application hosting? Sure, you can indicate so
  13. Can a customer, who hosts the application, have a copyright for his own hosted application so that he can restrict other customers and users to copy his application or can host new versions or update an application?  We are not dealing with customers in this application at all.
